About Us

The Club

Founded in 1965 at Plaistow Ambulance Head Quarters, Newham Archers are based at Langdon High School, Sussex Gardens, East Ham, London.

The club draw members from the local community and actively promotes the sport to all ages, encouraging new comers from all ethnic backgrounds.

On Wednesday evening we shoot from 7.30pm till 9.30pm in the school gym during the winter, and from 6pm outside during the summer. This year we move outside from the 1st of May. New members, or people interested in the sport are welcome and can make use of the clubs equipment.

For experienced archers with their own equipment, the club meets on Saturday afternoons at the club house, also at Langdon School, East Ham between 10.30am and 4.30pm

Community funding through Newham Council has secured reduced rates for the club, and grants from the borough have enabled the club to invest in new equipment. Essentially a target club, the club boasts a field division, for field shooting. Newham Archers has a very successful junior club, with several members shooting for the county. The club are keen to develop relationships with local schools and invite children who show an interest and potential in the sport to come and visit.

Mission Statement

Newham Archers' mission is to promote and maintain the ancient sport of Archery at an affordable price.
